You think you are the greatest. The best at everything. The LEADER. The one that others should look up to because of your greatness.
However, you’re ill-informed. You don’t know your actual history. You don’t know your actual laws. You don’t know how things really work.
Instead, they laugh at you. They know your history better than you do. They know how your laws truly work. They might try to explain it to you, but they decide it’s just not worth it; you won’t listen because you think you know best.
When confronted with your lack of knowledge, you just default to your standard “everyone else is stupid and doesn’t really know the real deal.” So, they laugh at you. You get irrefutable proof of your lack of knowledge, but still you default to your standard belief of knowing better.
Yes, they laugh at you.
You run around with righteous indignation. How dare someone tell you that you are not the greatest? How dare they tell you how things work. YOU know better. YOU are the one who has the knowledge.
But you don’t. So they laugh at you.
They laugh at you when you do things that are clearly against your personal interests. They laugh at you when you spew the information that shows you don’t know what you are talking about.
They wonder, are you really that disconnected from the people you are around in society? Do you really have no empathy toward others? Are you really that self-centered that you can’t see that you are not the greatest? The best? The brightest?
After a while, they stop wondering and just go back to laughing at you. They laugh and laugh and laugh. Then, they just shake their heads and hope one day, you might realize they are laughing at you and not with you.
